Electricity for Styling Purposes

I finally got something together with those socks! Bet no one read it, but I was whining about being unable to wear them *points to crazy-nutty-scrabblogmadness-pic* (Thanks Ana! It’s your fault! ;-)) with the white or at least light pink base. Thanks to Tuli‘s GRRRRREAT group-present I had one basic skin of each skin tone of her still new S5 series, goth tone included. Trying on the socks, the white of the skin yelled at me: You can do it! (Actually it didn’t yell, it was more a satisfactory feeling you get, when you put stuff on your avatar’s shape.)

The problem with Tuli-skins: You always look great! Perfect complexion, perfect coverage for your lips, wonderfully defined details…*sighs* BUT in this case this was just what I was looking for, because I didn’t want to look dead. Let’s say…freshly dead the most (least?). I’d like to stress, the skin’s not from the group present though. I chose one from the so called sweet make-ups. The lips match the pink in the socks…that blue-ish colour around the eyes doesn’t disturb the whole look too much, I think.

The rest came easily together from my NEW!-folder, where I usually throw everything in what I find on my way. The dungarees (*hihi* hot version) are actually from a set with top, socks and everything.

Aden‘s hair’s so crazy, that you get an automatic permit to wear that and still look hot/cute/beautiful/nuts. I have to admit, I bought the bang, which is covering my HUUGE forehead only last week. But it really was needed, otherwise, I wouldn’t have blogged about it.

Like for my last post I’ve put up a set on flickr with all the glory of this outfit! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Chocolate with sushi! Yum!

Anyone who’s spending some time on flickr‘s numerous SL-related groups, may have seen this already. It sounds already manic in my head, but I have to say, it was a huuuuuge stack of fun to shoot…myself…erm. At the end it was hard, to delete too much, because I liked most of them, especially those sitting poses, which are tricky with skirts and most hairs (and I won’t try to get one of the 180 prims of my wig, to make it look “normal”). So if you enjoy the outfit as much as I did (do), you can check out my 345 pix of it on flickr. *harhar*

The shirt from Twosome (Hands up, whose parents/grandparents had that kind of pattern on the wall! *remembers something like that in green, with orange sofas and a very, very, very fluffy and hairy (partly because of the cat-hair in it) rug*) was my starting point and I had to find stuff to go with it. Did a lot of shop/sim-hopping and found some really cute things, like the pants from KUROTSUBAKI, which are FREEEEEE!

I’ve seen quite a few of blogs (Edit: I found the bookmark for the blog-post I’ve seen/read first about them!) mentioning the shoes from Stiletto Moody and this is my first pair. They’re expensive (very!), but they’re the best I’ve seen for classy killer-heels. They come with a ton of options: walkAO, bling, heel-click, adjustable frequency and volume. Personally I prefer the bare settings. You can easily change all that by clicking on your left shoe.

I could go on and on about this, but I don’t want to bore you half to death…enjoy! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Cute!

BettiePage Voyager is driving me nuts with her cute stuff! Always nice presents for group-members and since she started on furniture, trees, fences and stuff I’m really getting into primy trouble. Luckily my “tea house” was a prim-bomb and got removed today…

Granny’s wearing a lifejacket!

Oh, oh…I am sooo lazy lately. Well, if you consider shopping in our Soluble Liquids (TM of whom? Can’t find the comment anymore…) as a productive activity…then I was very, very busy! ๐Ÿ˜‰

When the Tree of SL-update notice informed me about sculpted blouses, I just thought: Hรคh?. Later, on just another busy shopping-tour I understood. Wow! The new thing is a sculpted torso-prim! I see! Quinlan Quimby even offers a fitting service in the notecard with your purchase. I tried the blouse on my fuller figured shape and either it looked like a lifejacket or it was invisible thanks to breasts and belly. *hrhr* A glitch-layer (undershirt/shirt) is included and should be worn, so no flesh is flashing. Although the notecard says, you shouldn’t wear it alone, I’ve seen people doing just that and it still looks cute *shrugs*. Oh, and ToSL has matching shoes for the flowery blouses!

Having already Aden‘s Hair and Tuli‘s skin in my pocket (it’s biig!), I decided to go with a rather simple, no-colour-explosion look. A simple black&white look with flats and a discreet splash of orange here and there. The 60s feeling reminded me of the Tres Blah high wasted denims, which are just perfect with the blouse. Don’t you agree, the granny-potential is still in range of the tolerable!

SHEEEELBY!!!!!

I heard shelby Wrangler the first time, when I was shopping around Caribe. She was shouting with someone else for hours (well, maybe it were just a few minutes until I joined the shouting ๐Ÿ˜‰ ). We had a little chitchat and since then we occasionally hear each other. She usually shouts around like crazy, even (or especially?) in busy fashion events/sales. But I have to admit the last time…I started the shout, which was February the 7th (wow, you were wondering about the date, weren’t you?). That’s when she told me about her new shop Twosome which she runs with her friend Visa Volare. The latter is responsible for the gorgeous shirts they have on offer. The green top was the first to jump into my eye (Yeah, it still hurts!). Combined with warming armwarmers from UnTone Quilt (it’s still cold and you wouldn’t want to cover up the top, right?), Tres Blah denims and comfy boots from Maitreya this makes a cute casual outfit.

Too scared or too lazy?

Take a guess….

It’s time to show you some lovely outfit yet again. Not much work done you might think, but take a look at those colours (eyes, make-up, dress-thingy).

We all love Veschi, no doubt about it (I hope!!). I bought this in a serious attack (yeah, should see GP soon about that) after lovely Alla Ruff’s Computer broke down and she put most of her stuff on sale. It wasn’t brand new at that point, but as my two (three?) readers know…I don’t care. ETD-sale had some impact as well…*coughs* I think I bought at least four if not five willow-packs. ShinyThings did an amazing thing with those two coloured shoes, also available as flats…it makes it way easier to match with other colours. Yay!

Happy Second Lifing! (Please don’t sue me!)

Accidentally in Black

Ooops! Usually I’m not into all-black outfits (…but don’t mind rugby players *harhar*…), but if you buy with less thinking than usual, you might put your personal preferences aside.

Out of boredom I was checking some LMs in my inventory and also stopped at ::69:: (which opened a new main-store today!). Opposite of the store I browsed through :sey and found some nice pieces. I decided to buy a rock-chick-ish (huh?) jacket. Trying it on at home it slowly dawned on me, that :sey parka-black wave-for men is indeed for men! How could I’ve known??? Hood’s too big, upper arm thingies are too big, belt’s too big. I had to reduce it to the parts that are modifiable. My former plan of skinny jeans went down the drains and the lovely BP* skirt didn’t look too bad with the jacket. To give the whole thing at least some hint of colour I decided on using the rather pale skin with bright make-up from Minnu. The pumps from Shiny Things are just perfect, because they are not just black, but grey as well (wow, what a keen perception!), which goes very well with the jacket.

Perfect AO: Drama Queen from ANA_Mations (especially if it’s free *hrhr*)

By the way…the jacket is available for the ladies as a hooded coat in several textures/colours.

Panic Attack!

The one or two people out there who follow my blog with excitement *harhar* know, I’m not doing really any review-posts, just the occasional Look what I found!blogHUD-post. I’m more into creating perfect (perfect to me, some might hate it…hope not) outfits and showing them off. Of course it’s nice, if anyone’s getting some inspiration from it. So this outfit doesn’t contain anything new…well, the hair (thanks to this blog I finally noticed the arrival) was new when I put the outfit together. The skin is a result from my panic buy at Tuli (if you really wanna know: click!) and the top and pants are from the OMG-Last-Call-will-be-gone-have-to-buy-…-ANYTHING-tour, both being from different sets/outfits. I’d like to point out, that the hair looks very funny with this pose…

Oi! Horns off!

Being slow it took me SL-ages (RL days hopefully) to notice the addition to Cotton Candy: Cherry Buttons! I spent a lot of L$ there and stumbled into Thimbles on my way. Looooads of crazy stuff there and I bought something surprisingly wearable, yet slightly nutty in details (s. title for this post). The skirt from *DP*YumYum was a brilliant match (yeah, there’s my word again!)…and let’s not forget about the cute lamp (which includes the pose)! Don’t know if anyone will notice, but that was around the ETD-sale, which is why you’ll see lots of ETD-haired outfits ๐Ÿ˜‰

Where are my headphones???

Funny story….well, not really. I’ve mentioned the sock-till-you-drop-shopping earlier (1L$ per pair) and I really, really wanted to use the white/light pink based socks…My brain told me to buy a simple dress, preferably in black…it also told me, that I’d seen something quite nice at Maitreya. You can see, that it didn’t really worked out. It’s a well balanced, perfectly put together blahblah outfit, but it does not have the colourful socks…it just didn’t work. Of course I’m rather pleased with this anyway, ’cause it’s simplicity is just beautiful. I’d like to point out that the dress has an amazing fit, although it’s a prim-skirt (they never fit perfectly…well, considering, what I call perfect ;-))

Grandma, can I have this?

One fine day…*blahblah* I explored the sim around the BP*-store and ran into Grandma just around the corner. The dress I’m wearing immediately caught my eye…it took me until the 1L$-sale at corduroy (where I bought almost everything) that I decided to finally buy it. Grandma’s like a second-hand-store. You can almost smell the mothballs! I’d say it’s impossible to find something unicolour in her store. The new(?) main store with its bookshelves, crazy carpets and wallpapers doesn’t really aim for a sleek design. There’s even a mattress on the shelves, in case you might get tired and a loo as well! Do I have to mention, that the items don’t burn a hole in your purse? My dress is just 80 L$, most tops are priced at 50L$ and the coats are 180L$. The upper half of the dress comes in all possible layers! Yay!

The orange hair from ETD and the skin from Minnu fits the dress perfectly (that was a little fight). The shoes were another pain in the knee, only these rather simple looking plateaus worked for me and they actually offer an interesting sight down there (No! Lower!).

Two cupcakes, please!

I was sooo sure, that I ran into the โ™ฅCupcakes store while creating SLurls for my Blog back in January…but, somehow it doesn’t really fit so I can’t remember: 1. Why I’ve never noticed the dress-department from โ™ฅCupcakes and 2. why I found the store…and when.

Everyone who hasn’t checked the dresses yet, should do that very quickly. I’m usually not the dress-lover, but the variety of styles and textures amazed me. I decided to stay low and buy just two dresses to create two different looks. One in cold colours with pale skin and one in warm brown with (how exciting is that!?) brown/dark skin.

I fell into the paint-pot…again!

This outfit may look easy breezy (yikes!) but it involved quite a bit of shopping and close inventory inspections.

The skirt is yet again a CSR-present, in this case from BP*, but you can buy at in the shops by now. I chose the big hair, to give it more balance (yeah, I really think about something like that), since the skirt isn’t exactly skintight. With the hair being red I dipped the rest in the paint-pot…Tree of SL does not disappoint there (bag, boots, bangles, cardi).

Blah blah blah

2008-03-07_000341.jpgThis is quite a casual outfit (as if I’m wearing formal gowns, suits, etc…..), but I so love the way the skin, hair, top, pants, shoes, bangles go together. You should try to stare at it for a minute or so, you’ll understand ๐Ÿ˜‰ (Or you’re seeing it already and your thoughts about my IQ are confirmed.)

We all love Tres Blah’s cute designs and I bet most of us are hoping for the best, that her style and heart (!) will be preserved…as for the other designers (no clue what I mean?). Actually I didn’t want to write anything about these developments, but obviously I can’t hold back (every poor avatar out there who’s ever talked to me, might understand, that this can be bad…like really bad, right Aden?). At the end it’s the designers’ choice and we haven’t seen the fruits of Armidis future plans yet. To presume they sold their souls and will produce heartless assembly line-garprimments is a bit mean on our beloved designers. I’m actually quite excited about it, but still there’s this hint of fear…we’ll see (and spend our Lindens).

What I wanted to say with this pile of blah: The top is from Tres Blah! Saw it, loved it, bought it, loved it even more! I combined it with a simple, clever pair of cropped pants from *DP*yumyum. The leg-prims blend in with the pants beautifully…although it’s visible on the pic…hrm.

As usual the great bangles from Argyle-Boutique are a welcome addition to the sleeveless top. Can’t wait for the spring collection! *drivel*

I shouldn’t mention that I bought the willow pack of the hair before the big ETD-Sale? I’d better not….

Shop ’till you stamp!

OK, I know…in SL-time this is very close to being embarrassing, to blog NOW about CSR-happiness (What?). But these are among my favourite outfits in my inventory, so you have to stay with me here ;-).

I was already collecting stamps around SL when I teleported to one of the participating stores, which I didn’t know that well. There it was, the lovely *DP*yumyum-store (not actually taking part)….I was amazed by the prices, but was a bit shy (but there’s more to come!)…and saw a belt, which I once purchased in some Japanese mall. (10L$ for a belt with bangle!) So I only bought the dress (120L$ with a second skirt option and a cute bow for the back) and those fluttery(?) pants (80L$ in various styles + free skirt) …and got another stamp card and had to start all over again….But who cares when it’s for presents?

The boots are one of the CSR-Gifts and I’m rather sure, you can’t buy them in the store (anymore?).

Having a bad day?

When I saw this T-shirt around Fashion Victim HQ I (obviously harhar) bought it without thinking. The nice statement on the shirt (That’s German for “f@#k you”) demanded some proper skin and an overall “C’mon just *beep* off! Will ‘ya?”-look. Even the rabbit on/in the legwarmer looks *beep*ed. Yay! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’ve just visited the store where I bought the shirt….hmm….not much left of the cute slogan-shirts. I hope, they’re just working on it…
